About NTH
The National Theatre of the Highlands was set up in 2000 to bring dramatic activities to Easter Ross. It was set up by Michael MacLeod and Francis McKie. The first group was set up and started on the 18th of August 2000 in Kendal Hall, Alness.

| | *Alness Junior Drama Club was formed in August 2000.
*Our first session started on the 18th of August 2000 in Kendal Hall, Alness.
*3 months later we switched venue to the local school, which had a bigger Hall.
*We rebranded under the Alness Amazing Drama Group
*When we switched venues 4 other drama groups were set up and gave AADG some competition. Within 2 months all the other drama groups folded leaving AADG as no 1 for drama in Alness December 2000 saw our first panto The Angry Neigbour. |

* We did our very first street theatre performance.
* From August - December we worked on Night Club Fever

| | * Music started to become more involved
* Live music was played by one of the local bands at our performances.
* Sponsered Walk up Fyrish
* AADG performed Hansel & Gretal over three venues.
* Champion of SCDA Drama Festival 2002 |

| | * We took part in SCDA Drama Festival at Dingwall Academy and came 2nd place.
* Performed Punch & Judy
* Drama Workshop Tour in Ross-shire
* Drama Workshop Tour in Inverness & Area
* Worked with Eden Court & Highland Council.
* Performed Johnny Salter in December 2003
* Launch of our brother Drama Group in Evanton |

* Worked with children from Alness Academy & Coul Hill Primary School, Alness
* Performed the History of Alness using Shadow puppets.
* Evanton Drama Group Expanding age group from primary 5,6 & 7 to P3 - P7.
* Panto Drama Workshop Tour Across Easter Ross
* Christmas Party
* Alness Junior Drama Club set up as new group

| | * Evanton Entertainers Drama Club merged with it's youth club to create the Evanton Entertainers Drama & Youth Club (EEDYC for short)
* Valentine Disco
* Aladdin & the Magic Lamp Performance (Over 3 nights in 2 venues)
* Alness Amazing Drama Group, Alness Junior Drama Club, Evanton Entertainers Drama & Youth Club & The Ross & Cromarty Drama Group merged into the National Theatre of the Highlands.

* Culloden Army Cadet Forces Performance (Deal or No Deal) - They came No 1 in the Army Cadet Beat the play.

NTH is much more than just a theatre group. NTH Drama NTH Film NTH Sport NTH Youth 2008 & 2009 sees the launch of many new events Highlands Got Talent, Band Night, We are also proud to be involved in Saving one of our regular venues which is under threat of closure. Are proud to be involved with the Save the DJ Hall Campagin. |
